After last year's release of my latest album, Turning Tides, I am now turning my attention to my next project. I produced Turning Tides in my basement studio over a 6-month period while I was a stay-at-home dad. The budget was non-existant, and the final product was only made possible by my own resourcefulness and tenacity, moral support from family, and generous donations of time, talent, and opinions from musician friends. Since its July 2011 release, Turning Tides has received five star reviews in The Georgia Straight and Roots Music Report as well as nationwide radio airplay.
In order to build on the momentum gathered since summer 2011, I'd like to start work on my next album with a view to it being released sometime in 2013. I strongly believe that 2012 will be a turning point in my musical career. I have already received invites to perform at some high-profile events in British Columbia, and I'm planning summer tours in BC and the UK with some dates already confirmed. As I emerge from a successful 2012, it will be important for me to be able to offer something new in 2013.
For some months now I've been practicing and gigging with a band. Over the coming months I will be posting a series of videos on YouTube featuring songs from that will be appearing on the new album. I encourage you to view the project videos so you can hear what I plan to take into the studio. All project videos will feature live takes so there can be no question about ability. You'll also get to hear some great songs.
Funds raised through RocketHub will help me pay for a producer, studio time, and musicians for some of the new album.
