Every little sip helps - Send me to BBC11!

My name is Carla Companion and I am a beer blogger more commonly known as "The Beer Babe" of www.thebeerbabe.com. I have been writing about American craft beer for more than four years, and I have been a strong voice for beer industry issues and trends over that time. I also created "Beer Bloggers Unite" a Ning-based social network for beer bloggers.

Last year, the first-ever Beer Bloggers Conference was held in Boulder, CO, and was an astounding success. I attended with more than 200 other bloggers and shared tips, tricks, and learned a lot about blogging, beer and collaboration. This year, the conference is in the city of Portland, OR, on the opposite coast of where I live in Portland, ME.

Last year I found the conference to be a valuable part of my professional development as a writer and blogger, and helped me to form collaborative partnerships with several other bloggers to start a podcast, do guest posts, and discuss some of the most interesting topics in craft beer.

To defer the costs of attending the 2011 conference, I am seeking sponsors to help get me there. While my tax return last year allowed me to attend the conference little outside help, this year is proving to be more difficult to collect the airfare in particular - which is what my target amount is reflecting.

I appreciate - with all sincerity and humble thanks -  every donation that I recieve. I've tried to setup some rewards that would be worthwhile, and I'm just grateful that the craft beer loving community cares enough to help me meet this goal.

A few things about Rocket Hub:

1. RocketHub is not an investment or charity. It is an exchange: funds from fans for rewards from me. (A win-win, right?)

2. if I don't reach my financial goal RocketHub lets me keep what I raise. But in the event that I don't make my goal, or can't attend the conference, all the funding raised will go to Pints for Prostates (http://www.lyke2drink.com/pints/).

CHEERS and THANKS!!
