ITMIT [INDEX TO MUSIC IN THEATRE]

ITMIT, the INDEX TO MUSIC IN THEATRE web page is about to premier—with your support. You will have access to forty years of exhaustive work…documenting nearly half of all theatre works ever produced in the English-speaking world over the last four centuries. And we add an average of 1.25 original musicals daily (plus scores of additional citations), and will continue to do that with your help.

ITMIT is the largest single resource ever assembled on theatre works that require the use of music during performances. From straight plays using music through commercial chamber opera—we presently offer more than 72,000 entries in an easily accessible A-to-Z listing by title.

What we don’t have are the funds to complete the launch so that you can start accessing our materials today.  We need $8,000 for the purchase of hardware, software, legal fees, and business services.

In exchange for your help, we are willing to part with RARE theatre programs, press releases, photos, press kits, postcards, CDs, and other premiums that we customarily amass and then send to select libraries for archiving:

  • Donations of $20-$29 will receive one of the following: a one-of-a-kind program from an off-Broadway, off-off-Broadway, staged reading, concert, or original cabaret show.  All produced for small audiences in limited quantities, no duplications, and all musicals.
  • Donations of $30-$50 will receive a vintage theatre program [prior to 1980].
  • Donations over $50 will receive a complete musical press kit, CD, or premium; very limited supply.

RocketHub is not an investment or a charity. It is an exchange: we are offering you rare items in exchange for much needed cash. These items are gathered to preserve theatre history, used for our research, and then sent on for permanent archiving in libraries. But we are offering these to you in consideration for making the ITMIT database an online service that will benefit many.

If this financial drive fails to reach its goal, you keep your money (and we keep the programs and memorabilia and will send them for archiving).

THIS IS YOUR CHANCE TO HELP PRESERVE THEATRE HISTORY.   And to keep a small—but uniquely valuable—souvenir in return for your generous support.

BONUS: Along with news, commentary and historic insights, THE ITMIT WEB PAGE WILL ALSO OFFER A NO-FEE PROMOTIONAL WINDOW. Perfect for everyone in theatre who wishes to promote themselves, their project, their production company…Increase your exposure by merging your audience with ours.
