A Little About Me
I have been fascinated by tropical forests since I was lucky enough to travel to Borneo as a sixth form (senior high school) student on a life-changing expedition. I went to Stirling University in Scotland where I was inspired by one of our professors (John Proctor) and travelled with him twice to Borneo to assist with his research and conduct my own project which was eventually published and is now one of my best-known pieces of work (available on my personal webpage along with all my publications). I completed my PhD in 2003, again with much of the work conducted in Borneo and have continued working on various aspects of tropical forest ecology since gaining full-time employment in academia.
