I used to screenshot posts manually but it was always a bit awkward. This is smoother because I can easily add tags and notes and search back in future with AI. I am a writer and a swipe file is important so this is definitely not shelfware for me

If I delete bookmarks from Dewey does it also delete bookmarks on say the Chromebookmark toolbar?
If I delete bookmarks from chrome, will this sync to Dewey?

Good question.
The sync is one way, what it means is if you delete something on Dewey or in the source, it doesn’t delete it on the other platform.
Why? Dewey is a backup for any platform so we keep the copy even if it is removed on the original platform.

Have to be brutal honest right away. All bookmark managers coming out fast in the last couple months avoid Facebook and Instagram like the plague, and they collect all the same boring networks and have planned even more boring ones. Why?? Because of API easy job? It’s a Chrome extension, why can we just grab/scrape whatever we want that is being displayed in our browser while opening a Facebook post and for example save that post content? Or a comment? How hard can it be? It’s not impossible because others are doing it, so I’ll be end up buying and using the app that comes from a team that is willing to go the extra mile to include Facebook/Instagram instead of avoiding it because it’s harder, even if it costs 3x as much. If you are doing exactly what others are doing because it’s easier, you’ll end up with the same product with different coloring. This also tells me a lot about focus, commitment, and belief on the product by the team, to ensure it will last and scale as we expect as LTD early investors. PS: please don’t reply back with the usual “following platforms policies” excuses. If FB/IG allows me to select/copy/paste text from their platform, pretty sure we can also do it with an app that will just be mimicking that human task of selecting/copy/pasting.

First of all thanks for the question. Dewey is VERY different then other bookmark managers, we collect social bookmarks. Dewey has existed for more then 2 years and is growing, Facebook and Instagram are platform that will be added in the near future.
We started with X, added Bluesky, followed by Linkedin and web bookmarks, so we are progressing through all of the social platforms, our goal is to have all of them under one roof top.

Thanks for the quick reply. But Facebook is not even in the coming soon list. Still as the number 1 most used social network in the world, don’t you think it should be a priority over stuff like Mastodon or Threads? If in fact FB it’s in your plans, I was expecting to see it mentioned here in this listing and also at your website. Thanks
