Stitched, a quilting documentary

Stitched is a 70-minute documentary about competitive art quilters who are preparing their work for the Best of Show contest in Houston, where the nation's largest quilt festival is held annually.

One of the quilters featured was the first to make an award-winning quilt with a sewing machine at a time when hand made work was prized. Another quilter was the first to paint a quilt, which some considered cheating. And a third quilter often makes quilts depicting male nudes.

Each of these quilters mentored the next quilter, illustrating the tight bonds this tradition has always fostered.

This is a fast-paced documentary that includes fun scenes such as tiara-wearing quilters and quilting superheros.

Our market includes quilters, artists, documentary lovers, etc. It's an important project because it destroys a lot of the stereotypes of quilting. This is not your grandmother's quilting documentary.

We have shot all of this documentary in the past year and we are in the editing stages. We need to duplicate the DVDs and it costs $1 for each DVD. We plan to make 5,000 DVDs in March.
