Help us get Elliot Davis and James Bourne's latest musical to London (and then the US?).
Last year we commissioned a fabulous new musical called OUT THERE from Elliot and James (who used to be the lead singer/songwriter for Busted and Son of Dork). A really brilliant piece of work with a mixture of bluegrass/country/James Taylor inspired music by James and an original storyline written with composer Elliot.
Set in the town of Hope, Texas, we follow the story of Logan Carter, on the run from his home town near Detroit after committing a minor felony. Hope is a dead-end, one-horse town (even the horse has died) and its inhabitants are searching for ways to rescue the town from obscurity and financial ruin. Meanwhile a few miles away in the desert an old man is building something weird in his outhouse...
A story of sons and fathers, grandfathers and grandsons, of Hope winning out over despair and of making your dreams come true.
OUT THERE was first presented as a workshop presentation (although it looked pretty good!) in a small theatre west of London and we have now been asked by the fabulous Riverside Studios in Hammersmith, London, to bring the show to town.
We need $15,000 to cover the cost of the theatre and make Logan Carter's dreams come true. Help us do it now and perhaps we can turn a brilliant idea and a rocking good musical score into an overnight success story - every penny, every dime helps and you could be part of the story.
Oh, and by the way, if we can raise more than the target amount, we can invest it in improving the production values and convincing the public that it should be seen again and again. Even better, perhaps one day we can take it to Hope, Texas...
The show will open (if we are successful) at the Riverside Studios, London, on 25th July 2012. Be there, be OUT THERE.

NON DELIVERY
RocketHub fuelers should note that the Campaign Goal of $15,000 represents about one third of the cost of the project and is aimed at covering the cost of the theatre rental; the balance of the costs (staff, marketing, production costs, etc) will be raised through box office and a separate fundraising campaign within the UK theatre industry. In the event of non-delivery of the project, RocketHub fuelers will be offered by email and after the campaign is over one of the following three options:
a) Their funds returned by BACS or other interbank transfer
b) An offer to transfer their funds to an alternative project about which they will be informed at the time
c) An offer to transfer their funds to the YMT Access Fund which helps provide bursaries for those on low incomes
