BAD KID the show 2012

Bad Kidis the hilariously heartwarming tale of a goth boy who dreamed of being anywhere but the middle of Texas in 1991 -- preferably somewhere in London wearing fishnet gloves and a cape while standing alone in the rain. The setting is specific but the story is universal as David Crabb reflects on rebellion, sexuality, friendship and what it means to grow up different and alone -- just like everyone else.

The show is also about the difficulty of wearing a leather trenchcoat and 3 pounds of mascara on a 105 degree Summer day in San Antonio.

Bad Kid opens for it's second NYC run from February 17th to March 10th at The Axis Theater, 1 Sheridan Square.

"An actor's tour de force... Dazzling" -Martin Denton, NYTheatre.com

"Hilarious... A true spellbinder." -Kevin Allison, MTV's "The State," RISK!

"Delightful... Heart-wrenching." -Nicholas Lim, NY Metro

"To sit in an audience and listen to David Crabb tell a story, is to think to oneself, 'Ah, yes: Now that's how it's done." -Sara Barron (humorist/author "People Are Unappealing")

I couldn't be happier to remount Bad Kid this Winter at it's birthplace, Axis Theatre. There will be cloves, fishnet, capes, ankhs, and yes... ravens.

We have an expanded staff for this run and have been involved in an extended rehearsal process, adding new bits to the show and reimagining certain elements from the first incarnation.

It's been an amazing experience. But it's also a lot of work. Your donation can make all the difference. It will help pay additional production costs, fees for press materials, a stage manager, and T-SHIRTS! (What's a show without merch?) NO donation is too small. Even 5 bucks will mean the world to Bad Kid.

Some of you recieved this information last October during our first fundraising effort. And thankfully, so many of you were kind enough to donate the first time around. We can't thank you enough.

This time, our fundraising efforts will last throughout Bad Kid's run. So if you already saw the show and loved it, you'll have the opportunity to help until March 10, our big closing night!

Thanks again. See you on the dancefloor, kids!
