Matt Young Motorsports LLC (MYM) is a professional motorsports organization based in Bryan, TX. MYM first launched operations in the Menards Infiniti Pro Series (now the Firestone Indy Lights Series) in 2004.
The team competed in the Grand-Am Continental Tires Sports Car Challenge Series on a limited basis in 2011 under the Matt Young Motorsports with Heath Pearce Banner. Heath Pearce is a professional soccer player who currently plays in MLS for Chivas USA in Los Angeles, CA and for the United States Men's National team. Heath joined MYM as a co-owner in 2011 because he is a huge racing and car enthusiast. Once he retires from Soccer he plans to have a second career as a professional race car driver!
In 2003 at only 17 years old I decided to pursue ownership of my own professional race team. I became the youngest team owner in Major Motorsports History (at the time) at the very young age of 18, when my team competed in the Texas 100 at Texas Motor Speedway on October 16th 2004!
My passion for racing has always been there, it is in my blood. I have watched every Indy 500 and Daytona 24 since I can remember, and have been fortunate enough to attend both races multiple times. But my ultimate goal, make that my DREAM is not only for my team to race in these and other prestigious world-class events. But to win them! And to be the youngest team owner ever to do so! This is where you guys come in!
I envision a race team that not only has success on the track, but also succeeds in business, marketing, philanthropy, and an unprecedented level of fan engagement and accessibility. MYM will provide R.O.I. (return on investment) to our partners through building a brand that is #1 in all fans hearts! We will do this by allowing you to be a part of our team, and our dream!
I came across RocketHub just a few short weeks ago, and I decided that a crowdfunding project involving new, old, casual, and hardcore fans alike could be a huge success! We will feature RocketHub as one of our Primary Sponsors throughout the season, using the funds we raise with your help, to not only compete for wins and a championship, but also to get the message of crowdfunding out to the masses! We want to see this concept grow so that anyone with a great idea, goal, or dream can raise the funding necessary to succeed as I know we will!
Our driver Bryce Miller is a talented, well spoken, charismatic young driver. At only 20 he has already won the 2011 Pirelli Drivers Cup Championship and won his first race in the IMSA GT3 Cup Challenge Series last year! Here is Bryce's Championship video: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=VewEiPlKFpY&feature=youtu.be
Our goal for 2012 is to compete in the Pirelli World Challenge Series GT Class (The fastest class) with a brand new factory build Porsche 911 GT3 Cup (type 997) racecar. Bryce raced the 2011 version of the car last year to the tune of 13 wins, two 2nd's, one 3rd in 17 races! His only DNF of the season was a engine failure. He will compete for Rookie of the Year Honors in 2012. MYM competed with a Porsche 997 Carrera racecar in the Continental Tires Sports Car Challenege in 2011. So overall we are very experienced with Porsche rcaecars and have a strong relationship with Porsche Motorsport North America.
The car will be named the RocketHub/Matt Young Motorsports with Heath Pearce Porsche 911 GT3 Cup. The car's paintscheme will reflect a nostalgic look adapted from the BS Fabrications Chesterfield sponsored McLaren M23's driven by American Brett Lunger and 3-time Brazilian Formula One world champion Nelson Piquet during the 1978 F1 season. My Grandfather was a minority owner of this team. Replacing Chesterfield as the primary sponsor naturally will be RocketHub. This will work perfectly as RocketHub's Red and Gold logo fits perfectly into the White, Red, and Gold colors of the car!
At each various funding level you guys will receive prizes that will include, tickets, VIP pit passes, autographed memorabilia, team merch. shop discounts, free mobile fan club subscriptions, and more. Every single donor will be listed on a special supporters page on our website. And donors that contribute higher dollar amounts will have their name or business name listed as a sponsor with links to your website, banner ads, and will even get associate sponsorship on our car!
Everyone who donates to our program will have a vote to help decide who our charitable partner will be for 2012. We will feature this partner on our car and website, and we will donate $1 for every lap completed, $10 for every lap led, $100 for every race win, and $1,000 if we win the championship! At the end of the season we will also challenge each one of our team sponsors to match our total donation to the charity.
Members of our mobile fan club can get signed memorabilia, and merchandise from our bi-weekly giveaways that include shirts, hats, jerseys, helmets, gloves, shoes, diecast cars, watches, sunglasses, and more!
