Rough House Theater is a sponsored project of Fractured Atlas, a non-profit arts service organization. Contributions for the purposes of Rough House Theater must be made payable to Fractured Atlas and are tax-deductible to the extent permitted by law.
We're the Rough House Puppet Theater. We make spectacular musical puppet theater for adults and we need your help! By help of course, we mean money. We're raising $3500 to support two innovative and thrilling puppet projects.
We need gas money, actor money, designer money, space money, paint money, publicity money, and whatever kind of other money you've got. We are also offering wonderful and unique gifts like screenprinted art, personalized songs, and performance-grade custom puppets of you and your loved ones!
You're support is TAX DEDUCTIBLE. And every dollar past our goal will go helping us rent a permanent space to build and rehearse.

The Projects:
Premiering in March 2012 at Orchestra Hall in Logan Square, our newest production, Murder Ballads, is an intensely intimate penny arcade of five musical tales of murder. Through peepshow-like detail, Murder Ballads provides a harrowing, humorous and heartbreaking close-up of our most basic fears, and our basest urges. Murder Ballads will be touring in Spring and the Summer. Our first venture out is as a selection of Open Eye Theater's Toy Theater After Dark Festival in Minneapolis
We're also making a film! The Amorous Orlando (loosely based on Virginia Woolf's Orlando: A Biography) is an experimental erotic film incorporating live and puppet actors. It's pretty far out there, and we're quite confident no film of this kind has ever been attempted before. Freaky!
