MISSION STATEMENT/OVERVIEW
I. WHAT
The Project's mission is "two fold". (a) To Launch the "next great AMERICAN novelist" and (b) To Publish--for the book buying public--an entertaining "first novel".
II. HOW
Goal A: will be accomplished by awarding first, second and third prizes ( A laptop plus two "Live Scribe" data pens).
Goal B: will be accomplished by publishing the "novella" of the WINNER.
III. PUBLISHING DETAILS
(a) The "Contest" will enlist 3 Judges to "judge" the contest (Hopefully these "judges" will REFUSE PAY and will work for "publicity and glory" only).
(b) The "Contest" will acquire "publishing rights" to the WINNER'S NOVELLA (and will pay a "royalty" to the winning author).
(c) The "Contest" will advertise and promote the WINNER and the WINNER'S NOVELLA. (To advertise The Contest will use free Social Media; paid for Press Releases, and Pay-Per-Click Facebook Ads).
IV. THE FOUNDER
The Creator/Founder of the Project is Renee Ashley Baker. Renee Ashley Baker is the author of the true crime-political-mystery-thriller "Irma's House of Numbers" (Counting The Kennedy Conspiracy). "Irma's House of Numbers" is a 4 part series now available at the Amazon Kindle Ebook Store. ("Best ebook for $4.99" Renee Ashley Baker calls it). Renee Ashley Baker is also a popular Blogger on the Internet with "Bing" listing (results) of 7,000,000 and "Goofle" listing (results) of over 20,000,000. WOW!
V. FUNDING NEEDED/FUNDING USED
The Project requires $17,500 to realize its program. The $17,500 will be used to Buy prizes ($700); Buy a publishing package ($1000); Buy an author P.R. package ($500); Buy staff, equipment, and supplies for an entire year ($10,000); Buy a social media consultant ($1,000); Buy 10,000 "pay-per-click" ads on Facebook,Lijit, and Google ($2500); Buy misc ($1800).
VI. THE RETURN (THE REWARD)
As this is a "pre-purchase" and not an "investment" those FUNDERS/BACKERS who pledge $20 will receive a free "hardback" book (the "Novella"). Those FUNDERS/BACKERS who pledge (and give) $50 will also be granted automatic memberships in the new author's "Fans With Benefits" fan club where there will be "nothing to buy" just "free stuff" like screen savers, autographical photos of the "AUTHOR", and invites to any (and all) events (such as "meets and greets" held in your city or town).
VII. TIME FRAME
The Project must achieve its "funding goals" by March 5, 2012 (so that the Contest can "launch" in April).
