"Life would be a mistake without music"
It is quite a challenge to make ends meet as an indie artist .. and yet making music with my harp is my passion, my life and keeps me going! This contest will prove that the harp is not only for classical music: it can also be used by modern remixers. I want to show that the harp is a versatile instrument, deserving a place in pop music.
In september 2011 i composed & published the musicBOOK: A BIRD CAME FLYING = 5 originals for harp solo.
Now what? Of course i would like my music be played/heard worldwide and sold as well! ;)
Q1: what can i do to make other artists play my music?
Q2. what can i do to make my music heard?
Q3. how can i inspire other artists to be creative with my audio/sheetmusic?
That is why i initiated the A BIRD CONTEST 2012
The international online contest for harpists or any other soloists/ arrangers /improvisers and remixers.
The competition is about my music (this time all about the A BIRD CAME FLYING musicBOOK (12euro) A BIRDCAMEFLYING.mp3 (3euro) = entree fee as well) performance, creativity and interaction.
I love the idea that other artists are going to give my harpSOUNDS a completely different interpretation; all styles are allowed!
The fans are invited to join the contest as an artist or as a voter/listener/promoter via SOUNDCLOUD / YOUTUBE. (both formats have a great sharing tool which is great for viral internet promotion)
CONTESTANTS (2 categories)
A) = the Performer: he/she plays A BIRD CAME FLYING for harp solo or any other solo instrument
FORMAT = YouTube
B) = the Creative/Experimental Artist: 1 of the 5 pieces from the musicBOOK A BIRD CAME FLYING can be used by arrangers/improvisers remixers (for those who work in midi or make a remix there is a mp3 available)
FORMAT: YouTube or SoundCloud
To give the A BIRD CONTEST 2012 status i like to give nice FINANCIAL AWARDS:
1 overall prize = €1000
1 category prize = €500
2 runner-up prizes (each category) = €100
