I'm S. Carmichael Hill, owner of MACart, a start up visual-tech company based out of the state of Washington (Vancouver).  I am the founder and developer of the MACart Tabloid. Over the last several years, I have designed, built, and tested this tabloid called: MACart (Mobile Advertising Cart). This tabloid will be attached to the front end of retail and grocery shopping carts that consumers use on a daily basis. This product will eventually become the norm in every retail and grocery market in the very immediate future.

Basically how this tabloid works is that as a consumer shops down a particular aisle in the store, the tabloid will display commercial advertisements, basically like the ones viewed on television, to the consumer as they shop in the retail store.  This tabloid will stream specific product based advertisements to the consumer based on where they are within the store.  For example, if the consumer is shopping in the cereal aisle, the consumer will see commercials that will display cereal product advertisements.  The tabloid will display specific commercial advertisements based on where the consumer is shopping in the store and while shopping with the tabloid based shopping cart.

Now the potential advantage to the consumer is that by using one of these particular tabloid shopping carts, as the consumer goes to the checkout line to purchase the items that they would like to buy, the consumer will receive exclusive deep discounts on those items that other consumers not using these unique tabloid shopping carts will not be able to receive.  Additionally, by using this tabloid shopping carts, the consumer will have additional features such as; access to product recalls and product expirations before the consumer even purchases their tabloid based marketing products. 

The scanning process on the tabloid shopping cart that advertises the products that consumers purchase, will allow the consumer to receive these deep discounts based on the tabloid shopping cart being aware that the consumer is purchasing items that are advertised using the MACart tabloid shopping cart.

Big Picture

My objective is to bring cost savings and product awareness to the consumer.  Those consumers using this product will see an immediate cost savings impact on their bill; be informed about product expirations; and product alerts on the products that they may potentially purchase based on advertisements coming from the tabloid shopping carts.  This will allow consumers to be more in control of what they purchase and to have peace of mind what their families are consuming.  

MACart (Mobile Advertising Cart) Tabloid

MACart tabloid will be about the size of about 8x6x4 or more precisely the size of an average ebook reader (actual size still to be determined). This tabloid will have solar cells, a radio transceiver, and a microcontroller (mini-computer) with memory and sensors. This tabloid will be capable of receiving and transmitting information to a database that will then transmit current commercial advertisements.

How Your Pledge Money Will Be Used

I need your help to complete the prototype and development of a few of the MACart tabloids to demonstrate to the already existing appointments that I have with some of the largest advertising agencies in North America and South Africa. A minimum fundraising goal of $15,000 will allow me to complete the build, test, demo, and promote a few of these tabloids.

As soon as funding is in place, I will test the tabloids in specific regions with a couple of the largest retailers in the USA (appointments have already been pre-arranged with a couple of the nation’s largest retailers). Again, I would also like to point out that this product is in the prototype phase and waiting for finished production. There is no doubt that the product will work and once finished, will be provided the funds to complete thousands of these units for application in major retail and grocery chains.  Everything read or seen here is exactly what will be produced in volume.

Getting Involved

Every donation counts! Anyone who makes a pledge of any amount will have their name listed on our website as a backer, while anyone pledging at least $25 will get their name printed on one of the MACart tabloids., and anyone pledging at least $75 will get their own replica (non-functioning) MACart. 

With a donation of $300 or more, you will receive everything offered at the $25 and $75 pledge level. In addition, you will receive a video demo of your named tabloid being premiered in the retail or grocery store, and you will be listed on the MACart tabloid website as “Founding Donor”. You will also receive updates to all the future upgrades as the tabloid develops in its many advancements and stages of development.

For a donation of $1000 or more, you will receive everything at the $25, $75, and $300 level and roundtrip airfare to whatever retail or grocery store that will be premiering the tabloid that your pledge affects.
