Here's all the info:
Fry's Gig started from a cocktail party at @MrsStephenFry's virtual Twitter bar, Fry's. The artists who 'blipped' their music to entertain the partygoers had so much fun they decided to make the virtual a reality. The first Fry's Gig happened this March in London, and it was BRILLIANT!
With its success, we're looking to expand our events to other cities. New York is our next destination, and July 22nd is the date!
We have two main goals: To showcase performers from the NY area and the UK, and to raise money for charitable organizations.
Fry's Gig NYC will be raising money for Housing Works, the organization that fights HIV/AIDS and homelessness locally and globally.
We are looking for fuelers to help us reach our creative and charitable goals by helping us offset the costs of putting together these events: venues, staff, travel, promotions, etc.
We're a wonderfully motley crew of artists and educators creating these projects in our spare time, and we would really appreciate your support!
