The Chat and Chew Supper Club

Hungry for a night out? Then join award-winning playwright (Gee's Bend, The Furniture of Home, The FlagMaker of Market Street), new mom and amateur chef Elyzabeth Gregory Wilder for THE CHAT AND CHEW SUPPER CLUB -- where the kitchen becomes the setting for an intimate evening that is part essay, part performance, part dinner with friends.

After spending a year at home being a mom, Elyzabeth found herself missing all of the things that were once an integral part of her daily life: a bowl of cereal passed as dinner, entertaining took the form of playdates with the non-verbal set, dressing up meant wearing something other than yoga pants, adult conversation was scarce and writing was non-existent.  When her daughter turned one, she knew it was time to put away her purple velour track suit and reclaim her life.  She put her daughter in daycare part time, bought herself a pair of sassy boots, and started cooking and writing again.  However, the opportunity to entertain remained non-existent.  That’s when THE CHAT AND CHEW SUPPER CLUB was born.

You're invited into the kitchen to hear Elyzabeth talk about all the things we hunger for, while she cooks supper.  At the end, hang out to share in the meal and the conversation that follows.

The money raised through RocketHub will primarily be spent to fly director, Johanna Pinzler from New York to Mobile and provide her with a stipend for her work.  The remaining funds will help underwrite the cost of cooking supplies, a small sound system (mic) and rehearsal space. Should the project exceed the financial goal, the additional funds would be used for advertising, to print programs, and to cover the cost of "rehearsal food" (necessary since food will be cooked during the show).

PLEASE NOTE:  RocketHub is not an investment or charity. It is an exchange: funds from fans for rewards from me.  It's an All & More funding mechanism: if I don't reach my financial goal I get to keep what I raise. But if I do reach my goal, I get access to exciting opportunities."
