My name is Marisa Alonso Núñez and I'm a Spanish postdoctoral researcher working at the Paterson Institute for Cancer Research in Manchester (UK).
I work with yeast as a model organism for cancer research and I love doing that. Other thing I love doing a lot as well is talking about science, specially to non scientists. We, researchers, owe that to society.
I'm involved in several projects of science communication and I collaborate in Eurodoc (The European Council of Doctoral Candidates and Junior Researchers) and FJI-Precarios (The Spanish Federation of Young Researchers).
In addition I have a special interest in the gender equality aspect of science. And to complete this mixture I have to say that I'm a musician, crazy about jazz but with a classical background.
