This is a short clip of us in the studio recording one of the new songs called "Soul Murder". We haven't started the vocals yet. This is just an unmixed clip of what we have so far.

Dear Friends, Family and Fans,
Thanks for taking a moment to read about this project we are very excited about. Our band Sixty Miles Down entered the studio in November 2010 to begin recording 4 new songs that we would like to release this year. Due to numerous line up changes and other things beyond our control we have been putting this off for 3 years now. This will be the first release of new music for us since our 2006 e.p. A New Skin.
Over the past few years we have been building a solid fan base online and creating a little bit of a buzz. Songs from our past two releases have been in the top 10 charts on a handfull of sites including broadjam.com, ourstage.com and indie-music.com. Our music has also been getting play on various podcasts and lots of play on Jango.com where we currently have almost 3000 fans.
More and more people have been asking us when we're going to get some new music out to the masses. With the help of our friend Ed Faust sitting in on drums we began recording in November what we believe are some of our strongest songs to date. We are planning on releasing these songs as a digital only release but our goal is to also release a short run of cd's as well. The cd is going to include the 4 new songs as well as the 6 songs from our last e.p. A New Skin and a 4 song demo we recorded back in 2000 that is no longer available anywhere. We have different packages available and we are confident that we have something cool to offer anyone willing to support this project. We even have a package that will get your name in the liner notes of the cd!
Originally we wanted to have this project completed before the spring but now it's looking like late summer or fall. A lot of it depends on the amount of pre orders we get through RocketHub. If we meet our goal the money will go towards studio time so we can finish the songs. The rest will go towards assembling and shipping the cd's. If we exceed our goal we can master the songs so they sound even better and maybe add more to the cd package. RocketHub is not an investment or charity. It is an exchange: funds from fans for rewards from us.
