Going to Tahiti Productions kicks off its 2011-2012 season with FULL DISCLOSURE, a one woman show by Ruth McKee.
"Under full disclosure, a broker is required to give the buyer all known facts about the physical, financial, and economic condition of the subject property."
Realtor, Sunny Smith, takes this law very much to heart. Join her for an open house as she discloses not just the details of the appliances but also the details of her life. Set up in the style of an actual open house, FULL DISCLOSURE will be performed by Kiwi Callahan at The Secret Theatre in Long Island City, December 6th-18th. Join us for some snacks and a tour not just of the house she's selling but of Sunny's heart as well.
As with our past productions, we need your help to bring FULL DISCLOSURE to life! Your support will not only help us stage FULL DISCLOSURE, it will also allow us to continue entertaining you through next year. We have exciting plans for this season and we're hoping that you'll be a part of them.
Although FULL DISCLOSURE is a smaller show than our past productions, we still need to rent a theatre, construct a set and get the word out about the show - we want to pack the joint! Your donations will help us do exactly that. Even smaller amounts add up quickly on RocketHub, and we are offering some fun rewards for all levels of fuelers (take a gander to the right for details), so don't be shy.
And, as always, if you aren’t able to back FULL DISCLOSURE with COLD HARD CASH, we’d be more than happy to have your WARM KIND WORDS—tell your best friend, your wacky aunt, your cubicle-mate who always leaves out candy for the office, about the great work GTTP is doing.
Tell me more, they say? Going to Tahiti Productions was founded with the mission of providing more opportunities for women in theater. Most recently we produced the original play, SKIN FLESH BONE by Camilla Ammirati. This story of two builders, two poets and the bridge between them ran for 12 performances at The Secret Theatre in LIC. Previous to that we adapted and staged DREAMERS OF THE DAY, based on a novel by Mary Doria Russell about a woman who witnesses the creation of the modern Middle East in post-WWI Cairo.
Since its birth in the summer of 2008, Going to Tahiti Productions has grown from a company of sisters—a director/producer and a writer/musician—to an ensemble of nine talented actors and design and technical geniuses, and with your support that creative expansion will continue.
Everyone here at GTTP thanks you for your generosity, and looks forward to seeing you at the show! FULL DISCLOSURE runs December 6-18 at the Secret Theatre in Long Island City, just one subway stop from Midtown. Check out our website for more details and tickets: http://goingtotahitiproductions.com
For those of you unfamiliar with RocketHub, RocketHub is not an investment or charity, it is an exchange—funds from fans for rewards from GTTP. It's an All & More funding mechanism: we get to keep what we raise, but if we reach our goal RocketHub gives us access to additional exciting opportunities.
