This is a teaser for the documentary "The Undesirable," an inspirational true story about the life and love of Melvin Dwork, a WWII Veteran "undesirably discharged" from the US Navy simply for loving another man.

"The Undesirable" is an inspirational documentary about the life and love of Melvin Dwork, a WWII Veteran "undesirably discharged" from the US Navy simply for loving a man. For nearly 70 years Melvin has been fighting to have this humiliating badge of dishonor repealed, and in August of 2011 the Pentagon did exactly that, repealing his status and replacing it with an "honorable discharge" retroactive to 1944. Dwork has become an inspiration to over 100,000 servicemen and women who have also been dischared from the military merely for being gay. Since August of 2011 Melvin has been interviewed by countless newspapers, interviewed by NBC News and even appeared on The Colbert Report. "The Undesirable" is an unflinching look at Melvin's life and how this discharge forever altered to course of that life and the life of his then lover Dale. The way in which the U.S. Military treated homosexuals during WWII will astound you, and the way in which Veteran Melvin Dwork dealt with it will inspire you.
I need to raise my goal of $50,000.00 in order to move into the production stage of the film. This money will go towards rental of a proper soundstage, lights, camera and lenses. It will also pay for production insurance, talent as well as crew.
Should I reach my goal and there are additional funds available I will use that money for post production; editing, color correction, closed captioning and dubs.
