Greetings, and welcome to the Josh Deutsch / Nico Soffiato Duo Rockethub Page!
If you are here, you are either in our network of fantastic friends, fans and families, or you're a newcomer to our music, browsing projects you're considering supporting. Either way, thanks for stopping by, and please check out our videos and recordings, and consider fueling our project!
A little about us:
Guitarist Nico Soffiato and trumpeter Josh Deutsch have been playing together in a duo setting since 2006, where they met in Boston and immediately hit it off, both personally and musically. After a few years of living on opposite coasts, the duo was reunited in 2009, and immediately embarked on a brand new set of original music written specifically for our instrumentation of guitar, trumpet, and some effects and looping.
About the project:
With a full set of music written and rehearsed, we feel it's prime time to make a CD, so that we can share our music with you, our fans, many of whom are spread across the world and unable to hear us live on a regular basis.
The nature of the recording industry is in an interesting place right now, especially in the jazz world. The age of labels signing a group and covering recording costs is by and large a thing of the past. While we're trying to make the CD as affordable as possible, we don't want to cut corners and end up with an inferior product, and the costs of making a professional quality CD include not only the recording time, but mixing, mastering, production and publicity. This is why we're reaching out to you, our beautiful friends, fans and family, for whom we are recording this music!
Here are some of our goals that you can help become a reality:
- Record a full length CD of our original music
- Support our recording by hiring a publicist to help generate reviews and buzz for the CD
- Take our music on the road, to the West Coast, and Italy, our respective homelands, where we can perform our music and give educational clinics at local schools and colleges

-Josh Deutsch / Nico Soffiato Cookbook ($60 +): We're musicians first, but we're both pretty mean chefs too! This is a bound collection of some of our favorite dishes to make, from crab cakes to stuffed peppers to risotto... with photos and step by step instructions, so you can put our CD on the stereo and whip up a meal to impress your friends and family!
