Linescratchers Online Magazine

Hi Linescratchers fans, readers, musicians, and friends,

We at Linescratchers have decided that in order to fully meet the needs of our musicians and provide content that is more professional and in-depth than ever before, we will have to expand from a lowly blog to a full-blown online magazine.

What does this mean?  This means a professional site redesign, a quarterly PDF mobile download edition, a team of contributors who are compensated for their hard work, and advertisements that will allow us to build a network of associates.

Why Linescratchers?  Because we at Linescratchers realize that it's tough to be a Latter-day Saint, and especially a Latter-day Saint musician.  Artists like musicians can provide a sense of understanding and build bridges between people who have a hard time understanding each other otherwise.  Some feel that "LDS music" in the past has been generally deaf to the actual spiritual concerns of our generation, so the mission of Linescratchers since the beginning has been to expand our horizons.  There really are LDS musicians out there who explore very deep and meaningful spiritual territory, it's just a bit more nuanced.  It takes more work.  And we're here to help you find it and explore it.

Linescratchers is the only website on the Internet that does what we do.  Where else can you see interviews with Alan Sparhawk, Ian Fowles, Young Sim, Canoe, Idiot Glee, Roxy Rawson, The Steelwells, Jennifer Thomas, and many more musicians, all in the same place and talking about how their faith influences their music?  That's why we need your help to expand and grow to meet the needs of an ever-changing young church.  Tell your friends and please pledge to help us grow!  Every little bit counts!

What will you get for donating?  We have a few rewards levels, but the most important is this:  Those who donate $20 or more will be able to download a special Linescratchers Digital Compilation Album featuring 10 special tracks from our artists, including Kirby Heyborne, Idiot Glee, Kristen Lawrence, Rumbo Rumba, and more!  Totally worth it!
