I had a revelation a year or so ago.
I was playing at a showcase with another singer/songwriter who had been describing himself almost the exact same way I was. Midwestern roots, wide open spaces, introspective lyrics, the whole thing. Musically we didn’t sound anything at all alike but the description was accurate for both of us.
I started thinking about what I was writing and realized that although I have been a fan of sci-fi and supernatural stories all of my life, I had never written any songs that tapped into that. With my last CD, Ghosts Don’t Disappear I began experimenting with songs about being haunted, but I feel that I’ve recently hit a new stride. The stories keep coming and I’ve never been happier with the result.
