Started in a humble way by sending a little short poem to some friends each day with my Japanese friend, Anthropologist and Children Novelist Junichiro Kuniyoshi who also takes the pictures I use in the video versions, A POEM A DAY rapidly surprised all of us. It is now the most popular new poetry page in the world on Facebook!
For over 15 years now, I kept busy writing poetry almost every day, and I am eager to keep it on until the last moment. I have now enough material to publish over 145 books, (over 14,500 pages) and I am publishing them slowly but surely. This Rockethub project will help me to do just that and get more of that collection out in the market. The first 3 books are already out but I intend to re-edit them and change the format, with 5 new ones in the works to be polished, edited and published as well as make them e-books ready and prepared in a format suitable for public librairies. I firmly believe that poetry can help everyone to better embrace life while reminding ourselves of how precious every moment really can be: the 8 X 112 pages e-books (366 short original poems in each book) will be made affordable to anyone, from anywhere. Many ESL teachers already use A POEM A DAY in the classrooms all over the world. We want to offer the students easy access to the e-books and the collection. The hard copies will also be sold at our site and on Amazon. This part one of the collection for volumes 1 to 8 should be completed by december 2011.
