Curating.info Fellowship

The Curating.info Fellowship is a paid opportunity for an individual to conduct curatorial research and produce an exhibition at the Centre for Contemporary Arts in Glasgow in 2012.

Why a Fellowship?

It's tough for emerging curators and mid-career freelance curators to get the right opportunities that will advance their careers. While there are plenty of unpaid internships out there, there is a real need for quality career opportunities that are paid and that also offer a real result: your own curated exhibition. This is where the Curating.info Fellowship comes in.

In response to the need for paid hands-on job experience in the field, the Curating.info Fellowship will facilitate this essential experience. The inaugural Fellowship will take place in partnership with Centre for Contemporary Arts (CCA) Glasgow, a dynamic organisation in one of Europe’s most culturally-vibrant cities. The Fellowship is funded partly by CCA, and partly by the Curating.info community itself through a crowdfunding campaign.

Curating.info is the leading resource for curators of contemporary art on the web, providing information and editorial content to curators free of charge since its inception in 2006.

How will the potential Fellows apply for this Fellowship?

The applicant Fellows will send a short plan for their time as Fellow as well as a short statement on what they think the most important issue facing contemporary art curators is today. The applications will be assessed by a jury including Francis McKee, Michelle Kasprzak, and Sally Tallant.

I'd not only like to support this project, but I want to apply too!

Applications for the Fellowship will be accepted until October 21 2011! Get the application pack here: http://curating.info/pages/fellowship.html

What will the money be used for?

Funds raised through RocketHub will go directly to paying the Fellow a professional fee.

What will you do with the funds if you are fueled over 100%?

Funds in excess of our goal will go towards next year's Fellowship!

How does crowdfunding work?

RocketHub is not an investment or charity. It is an fundraising platform where supporters can help us provide this Fellowship; and supporters will get the cool rewards listed on the right side of this page.
