It takes more than talent to make a career in music. No artist knows that better than Jacob Moon, who has added hard work and tenacity to his giftedness as a singer, songwriter of award-winning pop and folk songs. He is also known for his total command of the guitar, which at times sounds like an entire orchestra, owing to his use of the JamMan, a live looping device that allows him to more fully realize his onstage ambitions as a solo artist.

He has followed the muse to success as an independent artist, and just released his seventh CD, 'Maybe Sunshine". His previous CDs have been recognized by the press and the musical community as worthy of several awards, and have been scooped up by enthusiastic audiences across Canada and into the US.

His popular music videos on YouTube recently gained attention on a national level, when rock legends Rush asked Moon to perform at the Canadian Songwriters Hall of Fame Gala. Geddy, Neil and Alex insisted that Moon to be there to play 'Subdivisions', which he performed on a Hamilton rooftop in his 2008 video (now at 280,000 hits). His performance was immediately followed by the biggest response of the evening (a standing ovation), and has led to many exciting new opportunities.

Stylistically, Jacob Moon fits into the roots category, with some eclectic twists. His strong rhythmic sense is complemented by a keen ear for catchy melody and lyrical depth. He is widely recognized for his guitar finesse, and has performed on countless recording sessions for other artists.

He has been reviewed in many publications and has received many critical accolades for his work:

"Jacob Moon is an exceedingly gifted and watch-able performer....he seems completely at home on stage"
- Ron Sexsmith, singer-songwriter

"Every once in a while a voice just leaps out at you...and that's what happened when we heard Jacob Moon" - Shelagh Rogers, CBC Personality.

"...perhaps the best showcase for this local singer-songwriter, whose well-honed pop sensibilities, bright and tuneful voice and clever guitar work belie his youth. The songs are remarkably strong and graceful." - Greg Quill, Toronto Star

"Jacob Moon is one of the finest singer-songwriters to emerge on the local music scene during the past decade. That much is abundantly clear on listening to his new album, Landing." - The Record

"Jacob Moon’s Landing is both moving and brilliant — recorded over three nights this past May at Catherine North Studios in front of a live audience — for the most part capturing one powerful voice, six deftly played strings and a dozen heartfelt songs." - VIEW magazine
