Dear Family, Friends and Potential Fuelers,
Introducing Atelier Collective Design. What is it? In a nutshell: a virtual warehouse filled with artist studio space. As an artist striving to find the right outlet for myself, I have experimented with many different media. Today I have finally found a project that I am passionate about: putting diverse creative talents under one roof.
We are inviting some of the most innovative artists around to come together in our “warehouse,” rent free, so that we can collectively and individually provide top quality products and services to clients seeking peace and beauty in their homes and work spaces. Atelier Collective Design’s focus is interiors and home goods, but we welcome our clients to push boundaries and let us stretch our imaginations as we realize their goals.
Atelier Collective Design (ACD) is a virtual hive of 13 artists, designers, photographers, painters, and other fantastic creative folk who offer goods, services, or both. Each functions as their own independent contractor, but is able—and encouraged!—to “knock” on a studio neighbor's door. A client may have come to ACD looking for a custom photograph for the living room wall, but after taking a look around the “warehouse” he noticed artists offering custom textiles and colorists who could give his home a fresh look. After a consultation with the client, a partnership of several ACD artists is arranged to complete the project. ACD will help a client develop his idea and distribute it to the right artist(s) for uncomplicated execution. There is no middle man, so we are able to keep our fees within reach of most budgets.
Thirteen spaces (lucky 13!) on the web site for thirteen well-screened artists; some artists will stay longer, some will rotate, and some will be guest stars for a limited period. Thirteen artists will get “free rent” in the warehouse – free virtual studio space. It’s a unique idea. We will be noticed.
To help us get off the ground, ACD is trying to raise a humble sum of $2500. If the sum exceeds that number, it will help us to move even further with the development of our work. Funds will go primarily to web design and development; since our website is both our home and public face, it is the most important initial expense to tackle. Some of the funds will also go to the registration of the company, as well as other administrative necessities. We also plan to market using both printed materials and online ads. We have the talent, the dedication, the ideas, and the industriousness to make this work; all we need is the seed money to get us off the ground. With your generous support, we can create a fertile workshop environment for artists and start providing our clients with affordable, top-of-the-line products and design services. Thank you, in advance, for your help and your belief in our work.
