TV GUIDE LETTER THEATER is a web series in which we (we being Alison Flierl and Scott Chernoff) re-enact real subscribers’ letters to TV Guide.
Scott and Alison first met working together at "The Tonight Show With Conan O'Brien." Scott used to crack Alison up reading letters from TV Guide during rehearsal and from that, an idea for a web series was born. In the spring of 2010, Alison and Scott had some down time after "The Tonight Show With Conan O'Brien" ended, so they used that time to bring TV GUIDE LETTER THEATER to life. The web series launched in the summer 2010 to many laughs and was featured on the comedy website, Funny or Die, and in the magazine that had served as their inspiration, TV Guide.
All the cast and crew of TV GUIDE LETTER THEATER donated their time and skills to make the first season happen. What we hope to do with raising money through Rockethub for the second season is be able to give back to the people who helped us accomplish our dream of making a web series about TV Guide letters. Also with the money, we hope to create more webisodes, get out a 2nd season of the series and make more people laugh.
RocketHub is not an investment or charity. It is an exchange: in addition for donating funds, you will have the pride of knowing you helped create yet another comedy web series. Also you will receive mementos from set (pictures, props, other fun surprises). Any of what we will call our "big spenders" (people who contribute $75+) will receive t-shirts, DVD's and the possibility of attending a concert with comedy genius and TV GUIDE LETTER THEATER composer Brently Heilbron.
If you've already read this far, you must really like us or letters written to TV Guide. Thanks, we like you too!
