Bringing Chekhov Home

We talk about the idea of bringing Chekhov home to Savannah.

From Savannah with Love: Southern Fried Chekhov

Our aim here is to bring two great farces from a master playwright to the Savannah community.  Using a uniquely Savannah adaptation of The Bear and The Proposal by Eve Butler (co-adaptor of the Savannah Actor's Theatre's 2006 stage adaptation of Neil Gaiman's Neverwhere, and author of No Smoking which was selected for the Manhattan Theatre Source's Estrogenius Festival in 2008), we seek to bring Chekhov home to the Southeast and not only enjoy the work of a master playwright, but also revel in the joy of our unique community.

It's not cheap to put on a show, so we're asking for support from individuals to help get our production up and out to the community.

All donations will go to support production activities, and we are excited at the prospect that we might even be able to reduce ticket costs, rendering our show even more accessible, if the project should fuel over 100%.
