GREAT TRAVELING COMPANIONS By Vonda Roloff

The past few days have been exciting as we have been finalizing all of the plans for the trip.

We stopped at one of my favorite art supply stores in Portland, I've Been Framed on Foster Rd. to pick up a great assortment of art supplies donated by Mark and had a nice chat with the employees there. This company is local and I have been buying my supplies there for over 20 years at least. If you stop by there, check out the 6 foot artist mannequin inside the front door. Her name is Isabella Funk. Earlier this year I won a contest to name her and received some great prizes. Some of these I will be taking to Honduras to work with the children.

Last week Mary Lou, a co-founder of Cracked Pots a great organization with wonderful events sent a personal check to help with the trip. Mary Lou has a heart of gold and it has been a joy to know her. She will be receiving a fueler reward.

Also, Julie Landau who curates a monthly summer art event and is a strong supporter of the art's community for First Thursday in the Pearl district sent her support and will receive her fueler reward.

Last night a group of great ladies met and we packaged all of the supplies. It was so much work but made easier with all the joy and laughter as we sorted, peeled and stuck the labels on each art "book" the chldren would receive, prepared the blessing grams and a very special key necklace on leather cords that the boys and girls will receive in a destiny ceremony after they have completed their personal healing art. It was great to be able to look at everything that has come together over this past few weeks and see how everyone's heart to share will make a big collective difference. Thank you to Kim, Shara, Bella, Mary, Shirley, Peggy, Marie, June, Kelli, Denise and especially to Robbin and Joel for all of their support, kindness and encouragement.

On Sunday, we had a very special send off time and we know this trip will be life changing for the children.

Big, big thank yous to everyone above and all of you who had any part in this trip. I thank you, appreciate it and you but now I must go because the plane will not wait for me.
