We are so close to our goal, but the time is ticking. Please help us reach it, and when the world superpowers realign, there will be a place at the top just for you!
When the world’s 2nd and 3rd richest corporate tycoons conspire to commodify the sun, their scheming has unexpected consequences: espionage, mass assassination, global communism… angry pussycats. Where most people see disaster, someone sees a world ripe for conquering.
LEMONADE: A Play of World Domination was born from a struggle to understand the falling tower of cards that is our current recession. Imitating its content, LEMONADE builds a winding web of schemes upon an absurd foundation unable to sustain much weight, or the people whose lives depend upon it.
This is a play of the moment, driven by absurd behind-closed-doors machinations where language is suspect and truth is exposed only through action. Filled with comic intrigue, manipulation, and revolution, no one is spared as the play contemplates corruption and power from all sides of the table.
LEMONADE was workshopped at The Centrifuge's reading series Fresh Ground Pepper in NYC. It arrives at the Tom Noonan Paradise Factory as part of the New York International Fringe Festival.
DEAR POTENTIAL FUELERS AND CO-WORLD-DOMINATION-CONSPIRATORS,
We have a confession. We're not just trying to put up a play. We're also trying to take over the world. Specifically, we're trying to take over the world by putting up a play about trying to take over the world. It's a very confusing affair, and costly.
We all know that global takeover requires funds, and, like any superpower, we had our invisible backer. Unfortunately this backer backed out (we suspect foul play by Spiderman: The Musical). Now we turn to you to help pick up the flag and march on.
Your contributions are truly essential. They help pay actors, rent rehearsal space, purchase props, costumes, marketing materials, and a slew of other necessities.
