Friends,
I am asking you to be a part of the recording of a new solo e.p. (short album) of approximately six of my original songs. This will be the first release of my original songs since 2004's Big Small Town album that I recorded with the Urban Blight Players. In other words, it's a long time coming, and I can't wait to get into the studio with the same engineer that made Prune's Slow Cooker sound so good. The songs I've been working on in the past few years range from my traditional pop sound into the direction of folk and country, as well. I'm really excited about the writing as well as the opportunity to work with a great sound engineer again.
I'm planning on offering the songs available for free digital download. This seems to be the best way to get music out there these days. However, physical CDs will be available for funders (see rewards to the right) and at gigs.
To raise the funds for recording and manufacturing of CDs, I've chosen to use a system that has grown popular in the last few years called crowdfunding. In this system, I ask for financial help from my friends and fans. In return you not only see and hear a finished product, but get the opportunity to obtain limited edition rewards from me (outlined to the right) relating to the project.
To me, this is an extraordinary opportunity to do something I wouldn't be able to otherwise financially, and to have the people that care about my work in on the process from the start.
