Why Baconfest Canada? Because everyone loves bacon and Canada has a bacon named after it... that's why!
When you first hear the word Baconfest you might think to yourself. “That’s a bit weird.” But chances are within a few minutes you’ll be fully engaged with the idea of a day totally dedicated to the chewy salty goodness of everyone’s favorite meat: bacon. Bacon is meat candy!
Canadians everywhere can come together to celebrate all types of bacon regardless of origin. From strip to peameal, turkey to tofu; let’s come together in unity and give bacon the recognition it deserves.
Taste a wide variety of bacon creations from fancy designer bacon to bacon bakin'. Bacon makes everything better. Take part in The Bacon Games, meet the Ambassador of Bacon or (if you're up to it) enter the bacon eating contest. There will be a bountiful selection of bacon to eat, baconista's to meet and bacon activities to take part in!
Baconfest Canada is Canada's nation festival of bacon. It will take place in Calgary on September, 24th, 2011. Your funds will help market and build a world class bacon event, create t-shirts and banners and will also help with marketing the event.
Baconfest Canada is a fundraising event for Inviti Jazz and Food Festival, a registered non-profit organization based in Alberta. Funds raised over and above our $10,000.00 goal will go directly towards staffing and the creation of Inviti Jazz and Food Festival in August of 2011 in Calgary.
