Two years has gone by since I put out "Boy Meets Girl," and it's high time I get back into the studio and record! I've been writing up a storm since moving to NYC, and I have a great new series of songs to share with all of you!
This time around, my producer will be Mark Marshall, who has produced for Abby Ahmad and Jenna Torres, and has toured as a sideman for Levon Helm, among others. Mark and I are building the tracks with an ear towards keeping my performance style at center stage -- this is going to be a very acoustic-oriented album!
We're about eight songs in, and are working on a complete overhaul of a certain oldie of contention (hint: I named the last album after it), with an old-school R&B slant -- it's been a heck of a ride!
Our process involves a lot of time-consuming one-on-one hashing out of arrangements, putting ideas forth then stripping them down. We're operating as a two-man band, meaning that what I don't play, he does, unless we absolutely have to hire other people.
Your money will go towards mixing and mastering and production of the initial pressing -- that's the bump that stalls most of these kinds of projects, as they reach completion, and we could really use your help in making it happen!
