12x60: Works for Csound (Remastered & Republished)

In 2008, I worked on a project called 12x60. Inspired by Robert Voisey's 60x60 project (in which 60 compositions of 60 second in length were put together for a one hour concert), I set out to create, craft, and publish 60 second works of my own; one each week for 12 weeks. I focused on composing my works entirely in the sound synthesis program Csound, with some found sounds and live instruments thrown in for good measure. As small as this endeavor seemed, it turned it to be an amazing experience for me as a composer. It stretched me and helped me learn the discipline of composing on a regular schedule and running with an idea from scratch. (After all, I *had* to publish every Tuesday night, no exceptions.) Not to mention learning a great deal about Csound and sound synthesis in general.

The project turned out to be quite popular among my fans and even the press. My website hits went up, I 'hit the charts' on ReverbNation (getting in the top 50 of 11,000 artists in my category), and I was written up in the Atlanta Journal Constitution by classical musical critic Pierre Ruhe, landing on the front page of the Arts section and given a two page spread!

After this success and after moving onto other musical projects, roughly two years later I revisited these little experiments and thought... hey, these are pretty nifty. I'd like to republish these... but in a way that better honors the pieces and presents them as a collective whole.

So, I'm remastering the works and will present them as a more unified, sonically polished set.

It gives me joy to think of bringing new light and life to these little compositions, these peepholes into my heart and imagination.

I'm working with master engineer Bob DeMaa to remaster the works and get them ready for republication. And my color expert wife Margie Deeb will create some cool cover art.

I will publish the works as an online only downloadable album on Bandcamp.com.

I would be ever so grateful for your contribution to this project.

The money raised will go toward remastering costs and incidentals.

Contributors will get a free download of the album (in your choice of high quality audio formats--including 320k MP3, FLAC, AAC, Ogg Vorbis, or ALAC). You'll also get mention in the credits if you desire. And of course, my ever lasting gratitude. :)

Contributors of $50 or more will get two free tickets to one of my upcoming concerts.

The first contribution of $100 will receive a free iPod shuffle (3rd generation; green; engraved with the words 'Follow Dreams'; shipping within U.S. only please)

Thank you for your consideration and generous support.
