A Little About Me
A songwriter with training in classical oboe and Celtic singing, Emily built up her solo chops while busking in Galway, Ireland, where she lived for 6 months.
Since returning to the states in 2007, Emily has performed widely in NYC at venues including Rockwood Music Hall, The Living Room, and Arlene’s Grocery; in New England at The Iron Horse Music Hall in Northampton, Club Helsinki in the Berkshires and in festivals including the Falcon Ridge Folk Festival and the Montauk Music Festival.
Emily released her first album, Where I Began, in 2009. This touching collection of stories about travel and lost love are highlighted by an impressive incorporation of classical instruments into a folk-songwriter style. But it is Emily’s smoky voice and honest and relatable lyrics that make a crowded room hush.
