A Little About Me

For those of you who don't know us yet:

Eddie Sugarman (Lyricist & Co-Bookwriter) is Managing Director of the 16th Street Theater in Berwyn, Illinois, the winner of the 2013 Broadway in Chicago Emerging Theater Award. Eddie appeared on Broadway in the original cast of the Tony award-winning musical Ragtime. His musical Meet John Doe (co-written with Andrew Gerle) has been produced across the country and its premiere at Ford’s Theatre in Washington D.C. won two Helen Hayes Awards. Eddie’s holiday musical The Nutcracker Sings (with composer Jihwan Kim) premiered at the Jedlicka Performing Arts Center www.nutcrackersings.com. Eddie has won the Jonathan Larson Award, the ASCAPlus Award and a grant from the National Alliance for Musical Theatre. He holds a BFA in Musical Theater from the University of Michigan and an Masters in Arts Administration from Drexel University. He lives in Western Springs, Illinois with his wonderful wife Kara and his beautiful, crazy kids Sam and Lucy.
