Our group leader, Dr. Costel C. Darie, was a nurse in his native Romania. He later received his BS Summa Cum Laude and Master's degree in biochemistry in Romania and a PhD in biochemistry at the University of Freiburg in Germany. He was a post-doctoral fellow at New York University and Mount Sinai School of Medicine. Currently he is an Assistant Professor of Chemistry and Biomolecular Science at Clarkson University.

Our project leader: Dr. Alisa G. Woods (Darie), received her BS in psychology Magna Cum Laude at the State University of New York, her PhD in Psychobiology, Neurobiology and Behavior at the University of California, Irvine. She was an Alexander von Humboldt post-doctoral Fellow at the University of Freiburg, Germany and received a Master's degree in Mental Health Counseling from the University of Massachusetts, Boston. She is currently a Research Assistant Professor of Chemistry and Biomolecular Science at Clarkson University.
