I (Mike Handy) began this journey by owning my own catering company in 1991 where I learned to operate a business model that allowed me to sharpen my skills in the area of food sales, marketing, logistics and customer service.
After selling my catering company I started by first multi-restaurant delivery service in 1998 in Orlando Florida. I signed up over 80 local and national chain restaurants for delivery services and implemented a detailed marketing plan that allowed the company to sell almost $2 million on food and delivery in 1999.
In 2004 I started a network of restaurant delivery services that shared best practices, software and marketing techniques. In 2010 I register the GoWaiter trademark and filed with the FTC to establish my network as a national franchise system. Currently I have 23 GoWaiter franchisees in 8 states and we are tracking $11 million in sales for 2012.
In order to start my business, I partnered with an exhisting franchise system that had been in business for over 30 years and had over 250 locations. The experience and corporate support in the area of operating a franchise system was of great value, but now that I have established by own corporate office support staff I would like to purchase back the stock that is retained by my partner in order to move forward more efficiently and effectively.
Personally I am a man on a mission. This concept has been my passion for the past 15 years and I have taken it from a good idea to a great business model. Although I have a wife and five children as dependents I also feel that my dependents include the 700+restaurant partners, 23 franchisees, 16 employees, and approximately 50,000 customers. I promise I will work as dilligently for my investors as I do for all of them.
