A Little About Me

Hi!

We are the lead coordinators of this SciFund challenge for Projet Crevette:

Elizabeth Huttinger, founder of Projet Crevette

Dr. Susanne H. Sokolow, University of California Santa Barbara

Susanne is a biologist and veterinarian at the Marine Science Institute of the University of California, Santa Barbara. She is interested in infectious disease ecology, with a special focus on marine and freshwater systems. Her past projects have studied the effects of climate and environmental change on diseases of Caribbean coral reefs and pandemic influenza (flu virus). Working closely with Dr. Armand Kuris at the Ecological Parasitology Lab at UC Santa Barbara and Dr. Kevin Lafferty at the USGS, she is now studying the potential for restoration of a native freshwater prawn species in West Africa to control schistosomiasis.
