I grew up in Virginia and have always felt close to nature, especially aquatic systems like lakes and rivers. My favorite memories from childhood took place on the banks of the Rappahannock River or exploring the woods behind my home.
Life is fascinating - there are so many ways that creatures make a living and I love learning about how ecosystems work. I'm concerned about the impact that people have on the environment, and want to help make sure we really understand what our impacts might be over the long term.
I'm a PhD student at the Yale School of Forestry & Environmental Studies, where I am so lucky to be able to spend my time doing what I love! I hope my research makes a difference in how we view pollution and contributes to improvements in the way we regulate chemical use.
