Aaron LaVigne is a New York based singer/songwriter and actor. Originally from Cincinnati, he is currently performing in the revival of RENT Off-Broadway, and started his songwriting career while on the National Tour of RENT in 2006.
Aaron released his first LP, ‘The DownTown Crowd,’ in August, 2010. As a soloist, Aaron won $10K @ famecast.com for the Season 4 Singer/Songwriter Contest with his song ‘Detroit Song’.
Whether it is his vocal style or keen sense of melody & dissonance, his band, also dubbed "The DownTown Crowd," exudes an energy. A party. An all around good time. Picture this: The vocal stylings of Jason Mraz, Gavin Degraw, and Paul McCartney meet the rhythms of Sublime, Bill Withers, and Jack Johnson. What do you get? ‘Aaron LaVigne & The DownTown Crowd.’
From his solo start, to the formation of the band, Aaron's musicality and taste in songwriting is ever evolving. The current project, entitled "Call Your Mom," will be tracked in April at Headgear Recording in Brooklyn and released this summer.
