Description

Began racing at age 14, owned, operated, and raced for local dirt track team from 2000-2002. Started Matt Young Motorsports in 2003, Began competing in the Menards Infiniti Pro Series (now Firestone Indy Lights) in 2004 as a co-owner of Matt Young Motorsports/Racing professionals with co-owner Steve Young, and co-owner/driver Jon Herb.

My family's racing heritage runs deep, my father attended every Indy 500 from 1961-1977 with his father, A. Stuard Young, my grandfather. My grandfather was legal counsel for, and a minority owner of the BS Fabrications F1 team that competed from 1975-1979 with drivers including American Brett Lunger and Brazilian F1 Champion Nelson Piquet Sr.

I got bit by the racing bug in 2000 when my mother became four-time Indy 500 winner AJ Foyts Attorney. In 2003 at only 17 years old I decided to pursue ownership of my own professional race team. I became the youngest team owner in Major Motorsports History (at the time) at only 18 years old, when my team competed in the Texas 100 at Texas Motor Speedway on October 16th 2004!

In 2011 we competed in the Grand-Am Continental Tires Challenge Sports Car Challenge Series under the Matt Young Motorsports with Heath Pearce banner. Was joined by co-owner Heath Pearce, a Defender for Chivas USA of Major League Soccer and for the United States Man's National team. Harry Curtin and Andy Lee co-drove the teams Porsche 997 in the GS class.

In 2012 our goal is to run our first full season campaign in a pro sports car series. We are shooting for competition in the Pirelli  World Challenge Series GT Class (top class) with a factory built 2012 Porsche 911 GT3 Cup racecar!
