Description

The core team behind this work are two Ph.D.s in Marine Biology, Michael Moore and Michael Haley, and between us we have more than 60 years diving on coral reefs around the world. In 2001, Michael Moore started the company EcoReefs, dedicated to reef restoration; Mike Haley joined in 2003. We've placed artificial reefs in Indonesia, the Philippines, the Persian/Arabian Gulf (Abu Dhabi and Qatar), the Bahamas, Jamaica and the US (Florida and Texas).

Michael Moore grew up in California, got his Ph.D. at UC Berkeley, and now lives in Washington State. He has dived all over the world, including many of the islands in the tropical Pacific. Mike Haley grew up in Jamaica and England, got his Ph.D. at UC Santa Cruz, and now lives in Florida. He has dived all over the world as well, but most of his dives have been in the West Indies. Together we bring a perspective that combines academic training with practical hands-on knowledge to solving environmental problems.

Recently we've been joined by Andrew Ross, who just submitted his Ph.D. thesis, and who pioneered the floating line nurseries in Jamaica. Andrew grew up in Canada, but now lives in Jamaica.
