Description

“....she has no boundaries, she has a fierceness to her collections and definitely one to watch” - Claire Ginzler, Fashion Director London Fashion Week - ON/OFF.

Samantha Cole London (SCL) is an International Award Winning Contemporary British Brand, an accolade that was received for her Spring/Summer 09 Collection during New York Fashion Week for Best Womenswear Designer.

Following her New York success, this new up an coming label has continued to go from strength to strength, she’s becoming a magnet for press culminating in numerous features and interviews worldwide from front page covers to full page spreads including a feature in NYTimes.com Magazine due to Supermodel Lara Stone’s selection and most recently featured in Italian Vogue – Talents 2010 further increasing her exposure within the industry.

“Ultramodern, forward thinking and looking....” Andrea Deanesi, Italian Vogue

Samantha was 1 of 4 designers most recently selected and sponsored by LONDON FASHION WEEK’S ON/OFF to showcase for February 2010 as “ONE TO WATCH” her UK debut was well received.

....a heavenly, pure white collection.... – Drapers Magazine

....Samantha Cole’s designs were the most promising, with a skill for quilted styles and padded leather her work has a certain promise... – House of Fraser

“...british designers tend not to follow trends so they evolve in a different way....look forward with david koma, Samantha Cole....” Mark Holgate American Vogue

In 2009 Samantha was appointed as a Goodwill Ambassador for -Stop the Child Hunger Campaign- under the umbrella of CATWALK THE WORLD-“fashion for food”, a high profile off-shoot of UNICEF and in the same year was nominated for Innovation in Fashion from Arise, Fashion Week in Johannesburg, SA 2009. This year she was honoured to also be nominated for Emerging Designer of the Year – International from AFI, Johannesburg SA 2010.

Samantha Cole London draws influences from modern day trends without completely relying on it for the direction and purpose of her collections. She has always had a passion and flair for fashion and was able to explore and develop this through working in the design room of Burberrys and attending The London College of Fashion were she graduated with a Degree in Fashion and Management

The Typical SCL customer wears this label to make a statement and convey a characteristic of their personality through unspoken words.
She challenges the definition of style and beauty and aims to make each garment an independent design capable of holding its own but still conveniently resides within the scope of the collection. SCLs philosophy is to interpret a trend, a thought, a mood by de-constructing the obvious signals projected and re-defining the concept to produce silhouettes that acknowledge the past, have a sense of the future and recognises that there are no limits or boundaries to fashion just to ourselves......

....she uses the female figure merely as a reference point at neck, waist and ankles, filling in the gaps with exquisitely fashioned, dramatic yet simple shapes - brave, bold and beautiful..... - Jennifer James, journalist

SCLs focus is on the continued development of her womenswear brand that caters to image conscious, confident, independent discerning women who dare to be different, set-apart, unapologetic and enjoy a cosmopolitan lifestyle.

Samantha Cole has already created a cult following and is definitely a designer to watch - clutchmagonline.com
