A Little About Me
Hi, my name is Robin Freeman. I’m a post-doctoral scientist interested in the movement and behaviour of wild animals. In particular, I’m interested in understanding the behaviour of those animals that are hard to observe using traditional monitoring techniques. To investigate these animals, we use a combination of modern tracking technologies and new computational techniques. Over the last 5 years, in collaboration with Oxford University and Microsoft Research, I have been investigating the movement and behaviour of a number of seabird species, including the Atlantic Puffin. This research is truly interdisciplinary, encompassing zoology, animal behaviour, computational science, engineering and ecology. I'm very excited about the opportunities of crowd-funding and of trying to find ways of engaging people more closely in the scientific process.
