I'm a second-year Ph.D. student at the University of California, Santa Barbara. Before grad school I worked with non-profit organizations, government agencies, community members and fishermen in southern California and Baja Mexico to research, protect and educate about endangered sea turtles, gray whales, and other threatened natural resources of the eastern Pacific ocean. As a scientist, I study the ecology of large marine vertebrates (i.e. mammals, turtles, birds) and work to apply that knowledge to find a balance between human resource use and species conservation.
When I'm not working on my research, I like to stay active (hiking, paddleboarding, running, playing basketball, or dancing). I love watching NCAA basketball, cooking (especially greens like kale), photography and exploring new places.
