A Little About Me

I am third year graduate student currently working in the laboratory of Dr. David Mitchell. I have a bachelor's degree in Biotechnology and a Master's degree in Biophysics. I have worked as a scientist in a theoretical evolution group, an elephant sociogenetics group, and a fruitfly sperm evolution group. In a previous life i've worked as a journalist writing technology articles for an Indian magazine and also as a comic and movie writer writing educational modules for underprivileged school children.

Having studied various systems and fields of research (from elephants to fruitflies), i've finally settled on a tiny little green alga called Chlamydomonas (Chlamy for short) as my system of choice. I study motility in this creature with a view to someday informing disease research in humans.

In my free time i like to listen to Sufi and Hindustani classical music, read humour writers like Wodehouse, Fry etc., and to indulge in outdoor activities like hiking. I also love Horse riding.
