A Little About Me

I am an inorganic chemist and an Associate Professor of Chemistry at a state university in the upper midwest.  I attended the University of Wisconsin - Stevens Point for undergrad and the University of Michigan for graduate school.  My training is in the design of ligands to influence the properties of transition metal complexes, and I absolutely love transition metals.

I teach General, Environmental and Inorganic Chemistry, and I am the General Chemistry Laboratory Coordinator for my Department.  Science is a hands-on activity and my goal is to nurture a love of science and a curiosity about nature through a positive General Chemistry Lab experience.  My research group and I have explored cobalt and iron for a number of catalytic purposes, but we are focusing on copper for the next candidates.
