A Little About Me
I am a Biology instructor at Western Washington University. I have a Ph.D in Microbiology and research experience studying how microbial pathogens cause disease. Recently, my research interest has turned to pathogenic fungi. Even among those of us who are fascinated by the interactions of microorganisms with the human body, pathogenic fungi tend to get overlooked. However, they are a significant cause of disease worldwide! This project combines two of my favorite things (teaching and pathogenic fungi) by providing an opportunity for an undergraduate student to do research with me this summer at Western Washington University.
