About me: I’m a biologist who studies brains and behaviour, mostly using crustaceans. I currently work at the edge of the tropics at The University of Texas-Pan American in the Rio Grande Valley of South Texas, where I am an Associate Professor.
Though I now live in Texas, I’m Canadian. I’ve had the good fortune to live in lots of places. My university education and academic training took me to Lethbridge, Alberta; Victoria, British Columbia; Montréal, Québec; and Melbourne, Australia.
How I came to this project: I did my doctoral work on sand crabs. I started working with them again a few years ago. This question popped out at me as I was reviewing the existing research on our local species.
